FAQ
The questions everyone asks.
What does an engagement cost?
Assessments are a fixed fee, quoted after a scoping call — typically a small fraction of what the roadmap saves you from building wrong. Builds are fixed-scope and priced per project once we know the terrain. Managed operations run as a monthly retainer you can cancel anytime. You’ll always know the number before we start.
How fast can we be in production?
Our standard commitment is a system in production within 12 weeks of kickoff — most builds land between weeks 8 and 12. The assessment that precedes a build takes two to three weeks. If someone promises production AI in a fortnight, ask to see their eval suite.
Do we need our data cleaned up first?
No — messy data is normal, and dealing with it is part of the job. The assessment includes a data readiness review, and “fix this specific dataset first” is sometimes the honest recommendation. What you don’t need is a two-year data-lake project before AI can help you.
Which AI models do you use?
Whichever wins on your evaluation: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or open-source models — including Canadian-hosted options when data residency matters. We’re model-agnostic by principle, and we re-test as the frontier moves so your system doesn’t fossilize.
Will AI replace our team?
We build systems that remove the work your team complains about — re-keying documents, triaging inboxes, chasing schedules — with human judgment kept in the loop where it matters. Our engagements are measured in hours returned to your team, not headcount removed from it.
